Missions Policy - Est. 1997

Whereas: Bearing Precious Seed, Couriers for Christ, Scandinavians for Christ, and Wings as Eagles are ministries of Wyldewood Baptist Church; subject to the constitution and presided over by the pastor (as provided in the by-laws) of said church;

And Whereas: The pastor, with the deacons of the church comprise the Missionary Committee;

And Whereas: Each of these ministries has a unique role to play in the total efforts of the church to fulfill the great commission;

And Whereas: These ministries have received (and continue to receive) gifts of money, equipment, and supplies from various churches and individuals given specifically for the furtherance of said ministries;

And Whereas: These gifts were given for the purpose of enabling these ministries to carry out their mission, and not given to the general fund of Wyldewood Baptist Church for ongoing operational expenses;

And Whereas: We believe that God is honored when we are honest and open;

Be it Resolved That We Affirm the Following Policies:

That: All ministries of Wyldewood Baptist Church will be operated within the confines of the law, providing for things honest in the sight of all men;

And That: Each ministry head be responsible for the day to day operations of his respective ministry, providing professional, ethical, and Christian leadership;

And That: Any person being considered for the position of pastor of Wyldewood Baptist Church must agree to uphold these policies regarding the church and its missionary ministries;

And That: Each person affiliated with Wyldewood Baptist Church's ministry be approved by the ministry head and the Missionary Committee;

And That: Each ministry's policies, procedures, and future plans be drawn up by the ministry head, pastor and advisory board, then submitted to the deacons and church body of Wyldewood Baptist Church for review and approval.

And That: Each of the ministries is responsible to keep an accurate chart of accounts, in a format acceptable to the treasurer and trustees of Wyldewood Baptist Church;

And That: Each ministry will submit monthly (or as required) financial reports of that ministry to the pastor and treasurer, reflecting the activity in each account;

And That: Each ministry will present to the treasurer, no later than January 15 of every calendar year, a financial report summarizing the total activity for the year. This must include a total accounting of all assets, liabilities, contributions, designated funds, and disbursements, with a summary of the volume of ministry work accomplished;

And That: Because we are authorized to receive tax deductible contributions, each ministry will accurately receipt each contributor annually (or upon request) for the purpose of tax deduction;

And That: No ministry may incur debt or cause liability upon the Wyldewood Baptist Church without a vote as provided in the constitution of the church;

And That: No moneys or resources given for a specific missions ministry will ever be used to benefit the general fund of Wyldewood Baptist Church. In the event that any of the resources are sold, all revenues generated from such sale must be used for the same or a similar ministry. The pastor, deacons, and ministry head will meet to decide how best to disburse the money in keeping with this policy.

And That: If for any reason there is a severance of the relationship between Wyldewood Baptist Church and any representative of these missionary ministries, all assets pertaining to that ministry will remain with the church, even though they were purchased with money raised by that representative. The only exception to this policy is that the representative will be entitled to the vehicle used for his travels while involved in this ministry. If there is any money owed on the vehicle, that representative must assume the liability or the ministry will retain ownership.
